what would cause that though.....and whats the chances of it happening....

I think you have been incorrectly informed.
If you have a weak IP usually when you tap the pump wire for the Comp the pump will fail shortly thereafter.
Never heard of the IP failing from unplugging the MAP. I think that's an urban legend.

well idk, but either way, people have said that its a bad thing to unplug it so idk if i should take the chance running it unplugged or not, since i dont have the money for repairing my truck if the time arises
