In my opinion that is the best way to have a super/turbo set up, cause all you really need is bottom end spool. So you could go with a fairly sized turbo, and get the wake as soon as you put the coals to her and let the turbo take over. I would need that set up in mine, I have 3:55 gears, and when I got something heavy tied behind, it would be nice to have a little extra to help get up to speed.
But my big question on this set up is: does it bolt on to a 12 valve, no heavy mods needed to fit it, and is there a pump adjustment needed. Thanks Corbin |
it would be all around nice for that low end spool. drag racing is a big one i think for that launch:jump:

These have been put on 12v's. My truck is a 24v w/Ppump. the pump needs some minor adjustments like lower idle and back off pre-boost.
Truck comes off a stop from idle like a boosted launch. As much as 10psi available (stick or auto) right off the line. Drives more like a big block gasser than a turbo diesel. No lag. I purposely built big lazy twins and tow with them regularly over 18000# with no issues. The only issue to this system is noise. The screw chargers are fairly noisy. Because of the twins (and because I like the look) the blower was mounted to go through the hood. @ idle the 2.3L makes 1-2psi with a 3" pulley, and 3psi w/a 2.5" pulley on the same belt.
