he is currently prob. not much over 700ft.lbs.and is he planning on doing much more?i'm just saying for a mildly modified truck that is a daily driver that doesn't get raw dogged all the time this would be a good deal.

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

they also make 3 and 4 disk convertors, you can get a 3 disk for 700 i think,so what if it don't say suncoast or goerend it's got a year warranty and i don't know, but i'd say suncoast or goerend don't offer much if any better warranty than that.

bowtech 10-22-2009 09:38 PM

what are the single suncoast rated then?

goerend offers a lifetime warrenty for a couple hundy more.

I totally know what its like to be on a tight budget and shit, but lifetime warrentys are always good. :yeah:

Aftermarket TC's are one of the most misunderstood things out there. Basically EVERY TC builder gets their parts from one of three places. There are only FOUR TRUE torque converter parts manufacturers. PERIOD. Everyone BUYS parts & assembles them & puts their own name on them.

The most common triple clutch TC out there is without question WEAKER than some SINGLE clutch converters BECAUSE the basic triple kit used by the VAST majority of TC rebuilders requires the use of a FACTORY lock up plate & dampener, which can flex if the trans line pressure is above 150PSI under throttle in lock up.

So much misinformation out there...

The very best triple clutch TC kit for builders has JUST hit the market. Without question, it is the best kit you can get. Billet Cover, Billet Piston, Steel splines, Multiple Stall Choices.

If your converter builder can't tell you who makes this kit, LOOK elsewhere for a supplier.

Wow.... Speaking of misinformation....

TheWanderer 10-25-2009 07:43 PM

Please elaborate RSWORDS...I'm more than willing to share factual information. I chose not to name names & chose to never bash a product by name for legal reasons, however, I can name every company that manufactures & supplies dodge cummins parts in north america and have hands on experience in building & testing converters, can you say the same?

hey got mine from red line converter out of phoenix arizona, its a 4 disc full bilett, w/ all the goodies, and it cost 700 bucks, also did a upgraded valve body w/shift kit and rigged to oil in park as well 300 bucks, and a bilett input shaft that i stole out of a junk yard wreck for 40 bucks, was orignally in an busted ats tranny, also got the intermediate and out put shafts too didnt know what they had there. :w2: but give red line a call hes been doin converts for over 30 years and stands behind his work and his warranty and owns a cummins as well, lower advertising budget [ word of mouth ] means less cost to us, had mine in for 18 months now and 20k miles and no problems, locks hard and digs, but i still need to get a in cab valve body assistant in order to get the full potential of this set up. good luck w/ your choice,

I don't know the specifics of TC, but I know that the same is true for ring and pinions as well as many other automotive parts. Many builders get the same parts from a very limited number of suppliers and manufacturers. So Id believe that the same is true for TC's.
