Considering how cheap you can pick up used tractors, I would just buy one instead of swaping any rig trans into a pickup. The only advantage is that eaton clutches are cheap and you would never smoke one. Allthough that chevy dually on Youtube is really cool.

6 gears is too many for me....I couldnt imagine running through 10.
I agree with that!...
The sooner I can get the 5spd out of my truck and the automatic swapped into it,I will be a happy camper.I drive 10 spds all week long and shifting all the time has worn me out.Time for an all billet automatic with a manual valve body and a air shifter for fun......Andy

x3 i can't wait to get an auto in mine either. Adding up cost for a DD clutch, flywheel, oversized input, heavy hydraulics, it makes a bulletproof auto seem like a decent investment.

Back when I broke my 5spd in late 99 I went the double disc route myself.Back then a built automatic was not an option as the parts were still in their infancy. However, the billet parts for a NV4500 were available and we dressed mine out with all that was available at the time. Now some 10 years later and there are NO billet parts for a NV4500 anymore(except for the input shaft)as they were determined as overkill and not needed thus the market was killed and automatic billet parts are plentiful.I had about 50k on my truck back then when I broke it and now some 10 years later its well over 200k and the transmission has never been an issue.I got over 100k on my old school EEP double and now about 40k on my Haisley and its time for something new and fresh...

I have just flat out tired of shifting all the time, maybe when I was a bit younger it was cool but now at times it takes the fun out of driving the truck. In todays diesel performance world you can almost say that building a good stick truck is about the same cost as a good performance automatic truck. The small insignificant cost difference is what is leading me to make the change now.It will be this winters project for next years show season and now all I have to do is find the right truck to use as my daily unit......Andy
