How bout a pic of where it mounts up in the cowl, like from the top where it actually takes air in. And what is the secret for keeping water out here.

i'm guessing the mount is atleast an inch or so off any kind of base for the water to collect... then the cold air goes into the bottom half of the factory air box. this means even if water does end up in the tube it'll drop to the bottom opposed to soaking the filter. so; you wont get much more water in it than what you probably do with the stock mount. if anything just get a dry flow washable filter... every time it rains it cleans your filter for you :w2:

Thats it. Air gets sucked in from the windshield area up above and goes into the bottom of the airbox then gets filter before leaving the airbox.

Save the money and fabricate your own setup- or spend it on more meaningful mods

I've had my SAII for years with rain, snow, sleat, hail, you get the drill. Never a problem. Works well , dropped my EGT's by at least 100°F over a BHAF. Also makes the underhood fully weather proof with the entire filter being covered. Mud, snow don't get sucked in with splashes through the fender well like my BHAF did. Can also wash under my hood without having to get out a garbage bag for the filter.

But I digress, never selling mine and they are no longer in production....for now....:w2:

I consider Scotty a close friend and chat quite a bit. The history is that all his suppliers for the molds saw the big fish and started to try to do it on their own or take the molds as theirs and kick Scotty out. Either the production was shoddy or they wanted to dip his pockets. They would still be in production if it wasn't for quality issues with molding companies. Scotty is a proud man and didn't allow for sub standard product. Once this could not be met, the production stopped.

Truth is, the 2nd gen trucks are getting fewer and the market is flooded with air systems. Its hard to get all the production set back up to sell only 50 units. IMHO, its probably not going to return in it previous form. But who knows. Watch the classifieds and keep hounding, maybe it will come back to life..
