Question First time cummins owner

I recently sold my 7.3idi (great truck) and bought a 2004 cummins with a 6 speed manual transmission. so far I love the truck and have no complaints. But I could stand to know more about it and diesels in general, so I was hoping so of you could tell me of some problems to watch out for and preventative maintenance. Or anything else you think I skould know? I just really want to take care of it, and what better way to learn then from the experts! Any infoation is really appreciated!

Good Choice for a truck! Welcome to Diesel Bombers!
The best advice is to get a pillar pod set of gauges either Autometer or ISSPRO you need EGT,Boost and Fuel pressure.
Depending on what you want to do with the truck you should get a Fass or airdog Fuel pump and filter system, a 4" or 5" Exhaust system upgrade, cold air intake, good clutch setup, injectors, turbo. It goes on and on

I believe the clutch in the 6 speed are better, but if you have a 5 like mine the clutch is necessary if you want to mod at all. I run an airdog and it's amazing and worth it just for the filters other than its annoying when I just want my radio on you can hear it. Gauges are a must a never knew how hot I ran until I got them and it totally changed my driving style.
Everyone has their own opinion on what needs to be done and you just have to choose, don't be an idiot like me and buy a wicked wheel 2 though.
