Default Tire size questions

I have a 2005 dually 4x4 with 3.73 gears and 235/80r17 tires. How much taller do I need to go to effectively change to 3.42 ratio. Also does wheel size affect mpg or ride quality. How different would it be to go from 17 to 22 in wheels.

That's not really an option I'm not exactly sure how big but I believe it would have to be 40 something inches to achieve that big of a difference

I run 285's now instead of 235's and I dropped about 150rpm at highway speed and I can't go any bigger without a lift
