Did you replace the relay. It is on the left side of the fan motor, just follow the wires from the blower motor, the relay is very close to the firewall and you need a short Phillips screwdriver to get it out. There are two screws holding it in place. I did mine this week and it is a very tight place, Good Luck

This is what my Mechanic told me, and it makes sense.
As the HVAC fan motor turns, in time the bearings and brushes wear to the point that they drag [normal wear over time] with drag it requires more amps to operate freely as it should, and gets hot causing the relay to fail. If my Mechanic is correct then you need to replace the HVAC blower motor and the relay together, that's what I did and I'm up and running as it should. Good luck.

I have a 2000 that used to do the same thing...or so I thought it was heating up and stopping. Turns out that there is a molex connector under the heater box on the passenger side that was shorting out. you should be able to see it easily. The reason I never saw it was that the burnt side was facing up and I didn't bother to inspect it any better.
Hope this helps.

well I checked out the molex connector's they all look fine. was checking the motor after running just a few mins. it was very hot to the touch. not the housing but the motor inside? I don't know if that is normal. the vent tube is connected and blowing air.

well it's been a week and everything is working good, so the fan motor must have been bad. very dirty inside and out.
