Default Lift pump upgrade question?

Alright, I have already got a "upgraded" lift pump, but I want to go ahead and switch to a fass. The only thing I am unsure of is if it is safe to put a FASS 150 on a stock truck. I have looked and looked for any info to answer this but have had no luck. Can anybody tell me if slapping a 150 on will be fine or do I need to do something special. If I do a 150 I will be going with a sump in the bottom of the tank. As for power upgrades, I don't plan on any any time soon, but if I ever do I would rather not have to re upgrade pumps again. Any insight or knowledge on this would help greatly.

Fass is a very good choice.

FASS 150 will be fine. The only thing you will be doing is polishing the fuel more often. You will enjoy it, and its a simple installation.

yeah Ive heard that over pressure is bad as well but I have also heard it doesn't matter. So...As long as it stays at the proper PSI you wont have anything to worry about.

To give you a little peace of mind, I contacted FASS directly with this same question about a month ago. The tech I spoke to said running a 150 on a stock truck will not harm a single thing. Any unused fuel just gets pushed back through the return line.

Cool! Yeah I spoke to someone at Thoroughbred Diesel via youtube and they said the same but recommended me towards the 95gph. I think this was because I mentioned that I did not want to drill into my tank if I did not need to. I am led to believe that for a 150gph the tank needs either a sump or a draw straw. I am just trying to decide which I want to do. I would prefer a 150 but that means more $$$ and tank modification, so the ease of installation and lower price makes the 95 quite appealing. Any thoughts on the necessity for a sump or straw on the 150 would be much appreciated! Thanks for your input and knowledge as well. Although it has made making this choice a little more difficult :/ ha ha

Draw straw is more for the people that have the factory lift pump in the tank. I run the 95 haven't had any issues after about 10k miles. Still holds strong.

If you have the lift pump located in the tank it doesn't matter what size pump you go with you will need the draw straw. If you do be sure you mount it correctly. If you don't have the straw long enough you will end up with fueling issues, either not getting fuel because its not got enough of a gap between the bottom of the straw and the tank or there is to much of a gap.

Thank you for the your input. I am aware of the need for a draw straw due to the factory intank retrofit. My truck still has a pump on the block, but I have been told that for any fass from a 150 up needs to have either a straw or a sump to eliminate flow restriction? Has anyone else heard this? Thanks again!
