I am wondering on opinions on the 2nd gen cummins with an automatic transmission ?? Would it be ok for hauling cattle with it ? And what would be the best tunner for it ?

 

For that kind of poll, that's not many options.

It really depends on how much of the time you'll be loaded vs unloaded and I wouldn't leave it with just those two choices.

 

Is this a question of running the 47re vs Allison? The Allison is a better trans but the biggest part is getting one, a stand alone harness and drive shaft/s. You would probably be looking in the neighborhood of 10 grand. However, you can build a 47re to be near bullet proof much cheaper. Id stick with the 47re over the Allison based on price.

 

Newbie myself, but would suggest a good torque converter and valvebody(higher pressure) at a minimum, especially if thinking of a tuner.
