Sheared teeth on nv4500
Hey guys. I installed a new used south bend DD clutch a couple of days ago because my stock clutch was slipping when I got on it. So I was headed to a local diesel event at a drag strip about an hour from where I live, they were having drag races on the track and a dyno there. I was real excited about the dyno to see what the ole cummins what putting to the wheels. I got about 4 miles from the event and went to pass a vehicle when all the sudden my truck started making a lot of noise from the bell housing area, limped it to a side road and a few hours later got it home on a trailer. Got the trans out and the clutch and input shaft looked fine so I removed the input shaft where I found it had sheared some of the teeth on the input shaft gear and sheared about half the teeth from the bottom shaft gear. So I was wondering what you all would recommend for a replacement. I have found them on eBay for 1k with a year warranty but I was also looking at an ATS nv4500 but they don't list any specs, I'm just curious about their input shaft size which I can't seem to find any info on. My DD clutch is still a 1.25" input shaft so I'd like to keep it since I got a good deal on it. Any advice or info on which rebut trans to use would be greatly appreciated!
