Found a few wires under the truck that may go to the long gone vss. One is two wires missing the plug. The wire colors are black or dark green and white w orange strip. The other is a single wire deutsch style connector. Thinking im going to need a vss and a pig tail? does that sound right. Guessing its the two wires missing the connector. Oh well at least I fixed the emergency brake today and may turn the pump up

looks like I need the pigtail and sensor. Is the sensor calibrated differently for each truck or are they all the same?

go to your local parts store like napa or oreilly or whatever is near you. just give them the make and model theyll be able to get you one. the pigtail may be hard to find.but those are the correct wires. black is the ground and white/orange is the pulse wire iirc

napa is dropping it off tommorow w the connector. I feel like there is something missing still. Looking at a schematic and it looks like there is a piece that goes between the the vss and transmission?

there is a little adapter coupler thing. i dont know what it looks like on a 2wd to be honest all mine are 4x4. but thats most likely an only dodge part or possibly a wrecking yard

sensor from napa came w pig tail harness

Ok speedo works smoothly but reads about 40mph off at 30mph. Guess I need the gear reduction thing that goes between the transmission and sensor. Anybody have any info on these.
