rear brakes
Well my brakes have been getting worse and worse so i took it the the shop. some to find out that there are no brakes left. the shoes were hitting the drum and to top it off however messed with the rear axle before i bought my truck messed up the nut for the preload on the bearings. They crossthreaded it somehow and decided to use a chisel or something to continue to put the nuts on.. $600 down the drain. Today has been one of them days were everything goes wrong, people make ya mad and women are bein how they are! Only one solution....

Alot of people just use a big screw driver instead of geting the right tool. On the passenger side of my truck, the factory lock disappeared and the nut turned clockwise until no threads were left and welded intself to the axle tube. Knocked the inner seal out and pulled the drum off. Used a plasma cutter to get it off and used a dremel tool with a thin cutoff wheel in the grooves and straightend the threads right up. Good luck on the fix.

yea just did a total rebuild on mine, man what a pain, the seals did not want to come out, they leaked just about half my fluid into the the brake drums, locked up the brakes and had to clean everything.
new breaks, new bearing, new seals, new gear ans pinion.
brakes worked like a charm, drove 5 mile.........and push brake pedal, nothing.
master cylinder decided that it wanted to be replaced.
that is just my story.
good times
