Odometer doesn't work?

Is it an electrical problem or mechanical? I spoke to my buddy he said it's a stripped out gear in the cluster and I found a thing on YouTube telling how to change it but my problem now is there's only 1 first gen in the junkyard by me and the clusters gone... Here's the link to the YouTube post http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=rVHSufDAzRo

I watched the video, I don't think that is the same speedo that is in my 90 looks like a later model. Heck take it apart you can't hurt it it's already broke. But if it is a gear where would you find a new one? I get the "Deer in the headlight stare" at the local Dodge dealer here (Tucson) when trying to find parts for my truck. It's as old as the parts guy..........
When I get home I'll check out the one I have and get back to you.
When I get home I'll check out the one I have and get back to you.
