It helps on the top end, while you will lose a little on the low end and yes it can help a little with egt's.

the shop i went to put mine up to 17.5 and said it will be fine, but that i will eventually need new studs and heads

so when i have it set at 16 thats a safe bet wont have to worry bout any thing? how will it drive compare to stock?

Ya, i want to know this as well i am going to get mine done. i think 16* is the way to go but i dont know for sure:w2:

dan33klein 04-27-2009 09:47 PM

im going to do mine 16*

94cummins12v 04-27-2009 11:29 PM

most engine builders recomend about 16.5* on there daily drivers with mild mods. only reason i went with 18.5 is because of my head work and studs

bowtech 04-27-2009 11:33 PM

ok sweet. so will it run smoother wat is the first thing you notice after you set it to 16?

94cummins12v 04-27-2009 11:36 PM

ok hell it will be so much smoother. before i did mine. in 5th gear at 40 mph my ass end would buck like hell. after i advanced it to 18.5* at 35mph in 5th its as smooth as a babys ass
