97 4x4 no over drive /4th limp mode
1997 2500 4x4 with a PAC brake exhaust brake a bd torcloc specifically. I have seen one problem which is the vaccum actuated arm on the drivers side of the transmission does not work. Other then that the PCM tps and all other wiring is putting out the right volts. No fuses blow and all the relays were fine. I had a wire tapped into the torque converter control wire that was ripped off but I hooked it back into the sensor. And still same problem. No 3-4 or overdrive in any gear. Just cycles 1-2 2-3 and then it will rev up to 2500-2900 rpms @ about 50 . No slipping no free spinning just won't shift up. So I read codes with a Bosch newer style computer and it ran an intake air p0113 temp off code which was it. So I was wondering what the leaver does on the driver side of the transmission that has a spring and my had a bd vaccum actuator installed for my torq loc. and if no codes are present is it time to rebuild od unit? Tranny fluid was burnt and no big chunks of metal or parts but lots of fine metal powder all over the mag in the bottem of the pan. will these trucks sometimes not throw codes for stuff in the transmission such as sensors or solenoids ? Or would that just indicate that it's the clutch plates just needed to be rebuild in the od unit? My od switch lights up and turns off like normal. Also while reading the install PDF for my torq loc it says to remove the trans relay near the battery on the divers side and replace with copper jumpers. What would that entail? Mine is still just a relay. Any ideas maybe to reset computer or something? If not the od unit?
