12 v acting funny
Okay guys I need some help, I have a 96 12 valve wth the fuel plate gone and a 4 inch straight pipe and that's all I have for mods and I was driving home tonight with my buddy and he wanted to see it smoke so I mashed the throttle and barely a haze came out, next stop sign I did the same thing and again a haze, a few day before when I did it it was rolling a huge cloud of thick black smoke. Also I was previously able to run almost 30psi until the defuel kicked in around 2000-2200 rpm and now the thing barely hits 18. Both if these seem the be caused by a lack of fuel but everything seems to be running just fine. Now the temperature has dropped from about 60 to 35 degrees in the last couple of day which could possible explain less smoke but I would assume that it would make more boost since the air would be a little more denser, I also put a bottle of injector cleaner in my tank a few days ago and maybe that could be reducing smoke somehow, I still don't know why I'm not running much boost either. If anybody has an explanation for this that would help a bunch

I would account most of the no smoke and low boost to the cold. Since your set up is so mild you don't produce enough fuel to make it smoke as well as not enough fuel load to get more boost. If you had timing or the afc aggressively tuned as well as more fuel mods you may have more consistency in winter for that aswell you have the stock governer which will make that affect aswell as fuel gets cut really early. Nothing to worry about your truck is just really mild. Put the plate back in and tune it proper aswell.
